Everything You Need to Know About Heated Jackets

Wondering if a heated jacket is right for you? Here's everything you need to know about these winter wardrobe staples, from how they work to what types are available.Heated jackets work in a similar fashion to heated blankets and heated car seats. The back of each jacket is lined with an electronically powered heating pad during assembly, and the jacket is powered by a power bank which sits within an inside pocket. All our jackets are toggled on and off via a small temperature control button inside the jacket, and there are up to three different heating settings to choose from in all our products.

How Long Does The Power Bank Last?

On a full charge, you can expect up to 3 hours worth of continuous heating from all our heated jackets in high temperature mode (45℃) (Red light), 6 hours of continuous heating the the mid temperature mode (35℃) (White light), and 10 hours of heating in the low temperature mode (25℃) (Blue light), though this is best used in short bursts to conserve some battery power for when you need really need it. The battery itself is USB powered and is sold separately from the heated jacket. We recommend disconnecting the battery when you aren’t wearing the jacket as the battery can slowly drain over time.

Fun Fact: You can also charge your smartphone using the powerbank when you really need it!

How Long Do Heated Jackets Take To Heat Up?

It'll take our heated jackets a few minutes to get warmed up (1-2 minutes) until you start feeling the benefits. Once you're fully warmed up, you won't need to keep the heating functionality switched on because our KFlex insulation technology will take over and help retain your core body heat.

Are Heated Jackets Safe?

Yes, heated jackets are safe. Although it's reasonable to be sceptical about their safety since water and electricity together doesn't make for a healthy combination. If the jacket somehow gets wet on the inside of the lining, take the jacket off and disconnect the battery immediately. Though getting wet won't damage the jacket, it's still important to take precautionary measures. The temperature control embedded within the jacket is waterproof and you can even wash the jacket in your washing machine as long as the USB battery is removed before washing. 

You should not use a heated jacket if you suffer from a serious illness or chronic health condition such as heart disease, anaemia, low blood pressure, paralysis, hypertension, diabetes or any other condition that causes poor circulation.

Our product protects against overcharging, discharge, voltage, current, and temperature fluctuations, as well as short circuits and loopbacks.

What About Overheating?

Our heated jackets have an internal thermostat that ensures they only heat up to your desired temperature setting. However, if the temperature exceeds this setting for any reason, there's a built-in safety cut-out that will turn the jacket off immediately.
